Message From the Director
  •     Thank you for your interest in our Botsford General Hospital Podiatric Medicine & Surgery-36 Residency Program. Our residency experience offers the knowledge, skills and professional attitudes to accomplish those competencies needed to be a well-rounded podiatric physician in medicine, orthopedics and foot/rear-foot/ankle reconstructive surgery. The educational curriculum at BGH provides both core resourced- base rotations, as well as exceptional rotations in advanced medical and surgical specialties to enhance the didactic and surgical cognitive skill levels.

About the Program
  • Accepts 3 residents each year.
  • Participant in CASPR/CRIP.
  • First Year of the PM&S-36 program, the podiatric resident will have attained competence in all aspects of podiatric medical knowledge, skills and professional attitudes to supplement a well rounded residency in Clinical Podiatric Medicine.
  • Upon completion of the last 2 years, the podiatric resident will have attained the knowledge, skills and professional attitude competencies in all aspects of Podiatric Surgery of the forefoot, midfoot, rearfoot and ankle.


  • The educational curriculum provides both core resourced-based rotations and experiences to achieve the activity volume required by CPME and APMA; to be able to sit for qualification with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.
  • In addition there are exceptional rotations in advanced medical and surgical specialties to enhance the didactic and surgical cognitive skill levels.
