Graduate Medical Education - Resident Programs | Medical Students

A subcommittee of the Department of Internal Medicine, composed of representatives of each of the General Internal Medicine groups, subspecialties and a resident representative meets regularly to evaluate our own performance as well as that of the residents.

The Department of Internal Medicine is especially proud of its graduates having a 100 percent pass rate on the internal Medicine board examination and achieving a ranking of #1 in Board scores (of approximately 55 osteopathic institutions) over the past three years. The Department is also pleased with the wide acceptance of many of its graduates into prestigious subspecialty training programs throughout the country. In the past 6 years, graduating residents have furthered their training in fellowships at institutions such as the Cleveland Clinic, Loyola University in Chicago, Henry Ford Hospital, William Beaumont Hospital, Ohio State University, and in Botsford's own subspecialty fellowships.

The Department of Internal Medicine also funds the resident's attendance at the annual ACOI meeting during either the 2nd or 3rd year of training.

Located in Farmington Hills, MI., a suburb of Detroit, there is ready availability of affordable and pleasant housing, numerous cultural and sports events and a wide array of restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts will be pleased with the close location of many parks and lakes.

Botsford General Hospital is approved for 18 residents in Internal Medicine, and up to 13 Medicine Track internships.
