NEPHROLOGY
AND HYPERTENSION FELLOWSHIP
Overview
This
two-year nephrology and hypertension program is collaborated between Botsford
General Hospital, St. John’s Detroit Riverview Hospital and Michigan
State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. We are focused to teach
the fellow to apply basic renal physiology principles towards the broad
spectrum of nephrological diseases. As such, the fellowship provides a
rich clinical experience in electrolyte and acid-base disturbances, acute
and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, acute and chronic dialysis,
glomerulonephritis, and nephrolithiasis. In addition, adequate training
is provided in transplantation, renal pathology, and continuous renal
replacement therapy. Ambulatory training is provided in chronic kidney
disease, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis.
