Graduate Medical Education| Resident Programs | Medical Students

Program Description (continued): The clinical rotations and curriculum are designed to give the pulmonary resident a well-rounded exposure to all aspects of clinical pulmonary and critical care medicine. The resident will be expected to achieve competency in most pulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The resident is to be competent in pulmonary histology and diagnostic imaging. Part of the resident's responsibilities include giving lectures and participating as integral part of the teaching program. A resident's responsibilities will increase commensurate to his/her cognitive skills.

This 36-month training program is designed to develop proficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of pulmonary diseases. During this program, the trainee will be expected to participate in a clinical research project and will acquire needed skills for performance and interpretation of procedures as it relates to medical diseases of the chest.
