II. Length
of Program
The diagnostic
radiology residency is of four years duration. The program complies with
the basic standards for residency training established by the A.O.C.R.
as follows:

The four
year program should introduce the resident to basic research and its clinical
application. Research studies are encouraged and research shall be done
in cooperation with the program director and approved by institutional
authorities. Research projects can be retrospect or prospective in nature.
The resident
shall submit a substantive progress report including the purpose, the
method and results of the study to the A.O.C.R. with his/her annual report.
The research project could be utilized in the writing of one of the required
scientific papers-exhibits.
The program
director shall assure that the resident complete A.O.C.R. required examinations.

Required
Electives |
| |
Subspecialty
rotations are provided in pediatric radiology at Children's Hospital
of Michigan in the Detroit Medical Center, affiliated with Wayne
State University School of Medicine.
Additional
elective time or variation in the current required elective will
be made on an individual basis. Botsford General Hospital Department
of Radiology has affiliations with the Armed Forces Institute of
Pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.,
at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in nuclear radiology,
at Harper Hospital in the Detroit Medical Center, affiliated with
Wayne State University School of Medicine in neuroradiology, at
Michigan Institute for Neurological Disorders for neuroradiology,
and at Michigan State University's Radiology Department for magnetic
resonance Imaging. |

Vacation
Time - In accordance with A.O.A. guidelines and with approval by the
Program Director and Director of Medical Education. |
| E. |
On-Call
Time - Each resident is on-call for for specific periods of time.
Frequency is based on the number of residents in the program. The
resident assigned on-call responsibilities is required to be in house. |
