Program Description:

Botsford General hospital (Osteopathic) is a 336-bed acute care general hospital. It maintains a full complement of physicians in the specialties of anesthesia, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, hand surgery, infectious disease, internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, pathology, pediatrics, peripheral vascular surgery, plastic surgery, psychiatry, pulmonology, radiology, rehabilitation medicine, spine surgery and urology.

The volume of patients presenting to the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2005 was approximately 59,000.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Botsford General Hospital believes that osteopathic emergency medicine is a vital discipline within the health care delivery system. We realize our obligation to the public to provide quality health care when dealing with the acutely ill and injured patient. We also understand and promote the very important role that Osteopathy plays in the comprehensive quality to health care today.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Botsford General Hospital (Osteopathic) is staffed by career emergency physicians dedicated to perpetuating and continually redefining their role as emergency health care providers. The standards for training will be those set forth by the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine. Through supervision and continual evaluation, we hope to monitor the progress of our residents and graduate those worthy of practicing as Osteopathic emergency physicians.

The Botsford Library & Internet Services department offers a full range of print and electronic resources and services.
