| Graduate Medical Education - Resident Programs | Medical Students ENT A one month rotation will be spent learning basic principles of ENT in the first year. Emphasis will be on outpatient management of ENT problems commonly seen in the office. ORTHOPEDICS A one month rotation will be spent with Botsford's Orthopedic Surgery Group learning basic principles of orthopedic management. OBSTETRICS/GYNECOLOGY During the first year, residents will spend one month rotating through the OB Department. Residents will be expected to learn routine gynecological and prenatal care. During the second year, residents will spend two months in an OB/GYN office learning various gynecological procedures in the reproductive system. Residents who intend to practice OB will rotate through Oakwood Hospital, where they will receive intensive training on the Labor & Delivery Ward. PEDIATRICS Residents will spend two months rotating through a pediatricians's office in the first year. During the second year, residents will be required to spend four weeks rotating Ambulatory Peds or Inpatient Peds at Oakwood. EMERGENCY MEDICINE Residents will be required to spend one month in year one and one month in year two in the ER. Botsford's ER sees approximately 50,000 cases per year and the resident is expected to have primary care responsibility under supervision. RADIOLOGY A two week rotation during the first year is recommended and residents will learn basic radiology as it applies to office-based practice. REHAB/SPORTS MEDICINE/PHYSIATRY During the second year, residents will be encouraged to spend one month rotating through the Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine service. This rotation will be divided into two (2) week blocks with half the time spent on OMT Service and the other half spent at TRACC, Botsford's outpatient Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center. One may elect a Sports Med rotation or 1 month with physiatrist.
