Graduate Medical Education| Resident Programs | Medical Students

Training Program:

The training program is divided into several clinical services which include surgical services, emergency room service and office orthopedics. Exposure to sports medicine through the TRACC complex as well as affiliations with major local high schools is available.

Orthopedic residents are encouraged to pursue and publish research topics pertaining to musculoskeletal injury or diseases, in addition a yearly resident paper is mandatory with the exception of the first year. Poster presentation may be submitted during one year in lieu of a paper.

Outside rotations will be approved on individual basis and must be approved by the Director of Medical Education and the Director of the Orthopedic Residency Program. The resident will be responsible for completion of logs and segregated total on any outside rotation and insure that the surrogate trainer provides Botsford Hospital and the Department with an evaluation following his rotation. Outside rotations will not involve the last six months of the residency training program which will be spent in-house.
